Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does your borage oil contain pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PA)?

A: Pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PA) have not been found in the oils derived from borage seeds. PA has been identified in the leaf, flower, and seed of the borage plant. However, it is important to note that PA has never been found in the oil of borage seed. PA is soluble in both water and alcohol, but is not soluble in the oil.

Q: Is d-mannose safe for diabetics?

A: D-mannose is very safe, even for long term use (even though most people will only need to use it for several days or weeks). Although it is a simple sugar, very little of it is metabolized. It does not interfere with blood sugar regulation even for diabetics, though close monitoring is always advised. It creates no disruption or imbalance in normal microflora.
