Maitake D-Fraction® Educational Handout

What is it?

Maitake D-Fraction® is a bioactive compound extracted from whole maitake (Grifola frondosa) mushroom. Composed of uniquely branched, protein-bound beta-1,3-glucans and beta-1,6-glucans (1,2), Maitake D-Fraction is a front-line cellular support product widely used in Japan.*

Uses for Maitake D-Fraction®:

  • Immune Support: Via receptor mediation, Maitake D-Fraction helps to activate immune modulators such as macrophages and cytokines, promoting important immune system defense (1-3).*
  • Cellular Support: Maitake D-Fraction provides high capacity cellular support for liver, lung, breast, brain, and prostate health (1,2,4-8). Furthermore, this concentrated extract helps protect cells from environmental toxins (1).*
  • Cardiovascular Support and Glucose Metabolism: Pure Encapsulations' Maitake D-Fraction is combined with whole maitake powder. Preliminary research suggests that whole maitake may support healthy lipid metabolism, cardiovascular function, and glucose balance (9).*
What is the source?

Maitake D-Fraction® is extracted from the fruiting body of whole maitake mushroom. Indigenous to the northeastern region of Japan, maitake is a large mushroom that grows in clusters at the base of oak trees (1).

How much is usually taken?

Each capsule provides 20 mg maitake D-Fraction and 250 mg whole maitake. Take 3 capsules per day, in divided doses, between meals.
