A note on MSM (methylsulfonylmethane)
MSM is a naturally occurring, sulfur-containing organic compound found primarily in fresh fruits and vegetables and in every cell of the human body. The amount of MSM contained in these sources is quite small and, although many foods contain MSM, the amounts are too small to extract commercially.
Pure Encapsulations MSM is synthetically derived through distillation. It is obtained by oxidizing DMSO with hydrogen peroxide, which produces a pure, white crystalline MSM powder. Although it is not directly derived from living materials, commercial MSM is indistinguishable from the MSM found in nature.
Pure Encapsulations MSM is made in the U.S. and contains 99.8% pure, patented methylsulfonylmethane.
